I had some chores I wanted to get done first & we needed to wait for the baby to wake up from his morning nap.
Their anticipation grew and grew. They really, really, really wanted to try climbing the ladders and picking cherries.
Finally, we got everything together that we would need. There is a lot that goes into getting four boys of varying ages ready for a cherry-picking adventure. And, a good writer would tell you all about it.
But, I'm exhausted.
So, we'll leave it at this. It was a lot of work. And, about 15 minutes into the process the boys had gotten tired of picking cherries. But, I was determined to at least get enough to make it worthwhile to clean, pit, and freeze them.
It's hard to tell from this picture but this is not quite a gallon of cherries. Now I need to clean them, pit them, and freeze them. But, did I mention I was tired?
It will be worth it this winter....I hope.
Sounds like quite an adventure today!
ReplyDeleteThat is so great that your in-laws live so close by. Free babysitting??? Our family all lives in other states so needless to say, we don't get out much!:)
Getting those cherries ready to freeze does sound like a lot of work, but like you said I'm sure it will be worth it this winter!
Enjoy the evening!
Oh how I love fresh cherries! I tend to eat more than what gets in the pail so it looks like you did well!
