But, I saw Cindy listed some of her favorite things today, things that make her happy, things for which she is thankful. And, Janette also encouraged me to do that same thing.
So, here goes, my pants are still too tight, and I think I'm going to have to throw away this wedgy-causing pair of underwear, but as for the rest....let's try on a different attitude!
- My husband and I are going out to dinner tonight with another couple. Grandma & Grandpa are babysitting. And, we get to have adult interaction!
- I am living my dream. I am a wife and a mother, and I am able to stay home with my children. It's the life I always wanted. It's not always easy. In fact it's so much more difficult than I could have imagined, but I wouldn't want any other life.
- Chocolate!
- God knows the desires of our heart better than we know them ourselves. Before I was married, I pictured myself with a certain kind of guy. Then my husband came along & he wasn't the type of guy I had envisioned being with, but he was (and is) hands-down the right guy for me!
- Sloppy baby kisses, flowers from my sons ( picked from our yard or from the field), surprise bear hugs from behind that almost knock me over
- The love and support of family. I've got wonderful parents and awesome in-laws. I know not everybody has family close by or even much family at all.
- Coffee!!!
Now, what are some of your favorite things?
I saw you visited Crystal and the name of your blog brought me over here! I also have stair step boys:-)They sure are fun... and messy, and noisy, and busy, and wonderful gifts from God! I happen to have five boys and one baby girl.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time out tonight! We haven't been out alone since we had our last meal in the hospital with baby #6 10 months ago. That doesn't count does it!??!?! Soon... I hope:-)
Anyway, nice meeting you!
I like this post much better!
ReplyDeleteYay you get to go out tonight- ENJOY!
I had Brady do the same list earlier this afternoon after reading Cindy's post. He had been complaining (more than usual) this morning...so I thought I would make him do this. I was suprised by some of his answers....none of which included: Wii, DS or Computer!
Hi Karen,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout out...if I had known I was going to inspire I might have come up with a better list!!!:)
LOVE your list and dinner out with your hubby and friends sounds divine!
Enjoy the night
Nice post. My favorite things today: spending time with all my family(they are all home, Alyssa lives away at college). Hot weather love it so much more than cold. Canning and freezing garden food.
ReplyDeleteLove your list. I made one too after reading Janette's post. What fun!
ReplyDeleteI love both your lists. Even the one where you were having a bad day.
ReplyDeleteIt helps to share.
I hope you have a great night out!
Karen, I'm catching up on your life. So glad you're getting a date night with your husband. (Adult interaction always helps.) And so glad Wyatt's leg isn't broken. We've done the ER many times over possible broken bones. There's truly no way to know without an X-ray.
ReplyDeleteLove your list of things that make you happy! Hang in there!
God Bless,
Kathie
My favorite things?
ReplyDelete-Coffee (of course)
-Sun, sand and ocean
-Warm fragrant muffins
-Fresh cut grass(and those wild onions too)
-Fresh sheets from the clothesline
-Back scratches
-NY style bagels(I indulge when I go visit in NJ; lotsa white carbs though)
-Week at the beach in July (I know, this is redundant)
-Quittin' time, esp on a Thursday :)
Way to turn it around!
ReplyDeleteI think we need to hit bottom every once in awhile. There's no where to look, but up (and up even farther):-).
I honestly felt there was nothing wrong with your previous post....and I enjoyed your favorite things too! Sometimes, we need to vent, to get it out and then move on....you weren't threatening anyone bodily harm, so I think you were fine! :o) Some of my favorite things are floating in the pool, coffee (really love Dunkin', but discovered there are NONE in Alabama!), shopping (when budget allows), a good fiction book (Christian romance are quickly becoming my favorite), comfy clothes, thick slippers, and chatting the time away with good friends! I hope you have a blessed and happy weekend!
